DP: Week Ten
Spring break is around the corner. It is time for me to capitalize on
the break and the chance to visit my content. I have worked to finalize
my storyboard after the feedback from our midterm presentation. Now that
I have composed exactly what I need, I can focus on capturing it. I
have the chance to prototype research that will inform navigation and
the user interaction of the experience. One of the main things that I
will be concentrating on is the execution of the underground augmented
reality experience. I will have the time to understand not only the
function but how the visual aspect will play out. With the finalized
story board in-hand, I can explore the city and shoot those elements I
need. I have also inserted further moments of clarity in the reveal of
my application by demonstrating more of the function of the app and
specific moments of user interaction with its interface. This will allow
for an overall understanding of its capabilities. Furthermore, I now
understand the screens of the app that will be highlighted so I can
focus on a big push with the visual design. Below I have posted my
storyboard and the places that I need to focus on documenting over the
break. Here is to the last time that I will post filler pictures without
design! It is time to kick it into gear and go! Happy Spring Break!

SX: Week 13 Poetic Final
For almost 150 years, Missouri and Kansas have played a part in one of
the most intense, long-running rivalries in the history of college
sports.
first meeting-1891
Longest consecutive games played in all sports in college-105 years
historical roots date back to 1850s with open violence involving
anti-slavery and pro-slavery
as the years have progressed the stakes have become higher and higher
no matter the battle ground...wins and loses are the currency of bragging
last year missouri made the decision to leave the big 12 conference
which they were both apart of in order to join the South Eastern
Conference,
the two are yet to schedule another competition.
Concept
extend the rivalry and continues the Dialogue between the two teams
we are looking to embody: conflict , interactivity , dependence,
symmetry, equilibrium, counterweight, marry
this is not to only celebrate Kansas and Missouri sports, but celebrate
the fans and their involvement in making this rivalry one for the ages.

Sprint Center/College Basketball Experience Museum
The placement of our moment meets people in the mindset of ready to receive and experience college basketball. They may either be going to the museum or an event at the sprint center. Not only does it celebrate college basketball and the excitement of rivalries but its content focuses specifically on KU vs MU. Even those who may not automatically choose a side in this rivalry will appreciate the significance of the history and culture if they are a KC native.
Dialogue/Emotional Goals
conflict
interactivity
dependence
symmetry
equilibrium
counterweight
marry
*narrative stem from the desire of the college basketball experience and the history and content of the longest-uninterrupted rivalry in college basketball history.

SX: Week 11
As the semester comes to an end, we have have one final project in spatial
experience… and that is to create a monument. After a beautifully
sequenced narrative on creating a monument, we feel as if there was one
primary theme throughout the work Kidwell showcased, this I would
qualify as substance. The monuments were all so [not so] obviously
meaningful. Some had abstract depictions, some were more
representational, but all were of value to a particular context. Patrick and I look to create something that could resonate
with the Kansas City community, something that has sunken its teeth into
the fabric of the region. Therefore, we decided to venture into the
world of the much disputed rivalry between the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas… the two have duked it out for
years and just recently MU transferred into a other conference
forfeiting the future opportunity to wage war. Geographically, Kansas
City is the largest meteroplex analogous the two schools and the
population of each of the Alma Maters grows; this makes Kansas City the
perfect place to commemorate the nations longest and most bragged about
college rivalry… MU vs. KU. The battle of the cat and bird.

DP: Week Ten
I am currently in the motion stage of my process. I am specifically working on the transition of the train from above ground to underground and how the AR aspect is activated. At this point in my video, the user is familiar with the app and uses the AR function regularly. The voice-over will clarify this moment and bring the viewer of the video up-to-speed so the video does not have to waste time explaining how to walk through the AR function for the first time. Due to the fact that the AR is a key moment in my system, I wanted to enlarge the screen space and allow the viewer to understand the experience that the user is having. The images below capture my motion in a step-by-step fashion of how the train darkens and moves into the AR space. Once the phone is flipped and enlarged, the AR will activate and the user will begin to see what is above ground.

SX: Week 10 Persuasive Final
Dieter Rams creates minimal and unobtrusive products that not only meet function but encourage and enhance our interaction with these objects. Age less, the enduring ethos of Dieter Rams examines and educates viewers on the importance of Rams ten principles and the role they have and continue to have on design. All of Rams principles can be applied to the past, present, and feature of design. Our exhibition walks a viewer through Rams principles while giving greater context to how the have been applied throughout design. Our goal is to allow viewers to walk away with a deeper understanding for not only Rams work but how his principles are ageless.

DP: Week Nine
I am currently working on the aesthetics of the brand and the initial profile screens. I spent a large part of spring break finalizing any and all last minute research while gathering all visual content needed. Moving forward I will work to finalize all screens of my system and move into the animation aspect of my system.

SX: Week 8
As we finish the construction of our physical model we are finalizing our digital mock-ups of each room and principle. We are working to visually represent our site plan through the model, our digital mock-ups, and an identified floor plan.

SX: Week 7
We’ve further identified the sequencing and layout of the exhibition. We’ve generated a map that indicates both the principles in a spatial
sequence and the pertaining content for each, as well as possible
traffic flow throughout the experience.
We’re still going with the concept of “age of less” which speaks to the timeless qualities of these principles, and how his ethos applies across past, present & future, and how the essence is enduring and ageless. Moving forward, we would like to explore the branding of this concept in order to tie aspects of the experience together.

SX: Self Assessment
Spatial Experience, has given me a new perspective and understanding of the many roles that design plays. In our first project it was interesting to move into the three-dimensional world and understand how design can be carried out in space, across multiple levels of interaction. As always, it needed to be clear, legible, consistent, thoughtful, and functional. These elements were important to the success of the design but furthermore it needed to embody values and attributes in space. While this concept is not new to us, focusing on it in a spatial sequence with dimension presented as a newer way of thinking. Spatial experience has stressed the importance of the user and their interaction with the design. Discovering the user and their needs has been vital in the communication and curation of each experience. Being able to construct and express attributes and information in a spatial sense has the ability to impact a viewer when executed correctly. Experiences are everywhere, how we move through space and retain presented information is a very powerful tool. I have learned to understand the power of this tool and its ability to resonate with those who interact within a thoughtfully executed space.
